Our Caribbean children grow up in heat and sun and as adults struggle with the aftermath of the skin damage. We seek to educate, treat and journey with you and your family through all your skin seasons.

The science behind skin of color & Caribbean skin

Skin of color has much higher melanocyte activity. Melanocytes are the cells that provide melanin to our beautiful brown and exotic skin tones.

With mixes in the Caribbean such as Indian, Asian, African, Portuguese, Spanish and many more, we have melanin, hair follicles and pore sizes of all types and genetically we span a wider range of skin issues that most other populations. Our melanocytes must be treated gently. If not, this can lead to hyperpigmentation.

Your goal is to preserve youthful, blemish free skin well in to your 50’s and 60’s.

Glowing skin is attainable

With a consistent, scientifically formulated, thoughtful skin care routine your skin can be glowing like the golden Caribbean sunshine.

Our treatments are formulated with skin of color in mind. Our products boast of active ingreditents such as niacinamide, salicylic acid, mandelic acid, kojic acid, alpha arbutin & squalene. Not only are the ingredients the first choice for skin of color, but the formulations have been done by chemists, skin care specialists in an FDA approved Lab in the USA.

Understanding that not all skincare is regulated is part of the reason why you may not get results from over-the-counter brands.

Stopping acne in its tracks will help you to prevent acne scars and hyperpigmentation in the future as a Caribbean teen. PIH is so often part of a Caribbean teen’s journey as they live often times with hot temperatures which causes oily skin and leads to a high chance of acne. Acne vulgaris can be very delibitating to teen agers as their self esteem is highly tied to the state of their skin. Even after their acne has cleared, they are still at risk for PIH which leaves behind the dark marks that can also many times be just as much of a debilitating effect as the acne.

Treat teens how to topically treat their skin issues is what we pride ourselves on at Isladerm. We make routines simple, yet effective.
